Ghanaian music sensation, Monica hitmaker, Kuame Eugene was involved in a harrowing motor accident near the Achimota Overhead, adjacent to the Achimota Forest, on Sunday, March 17, 2024, around 11:30 pm. The unfortunate incident occurred when Eugene’s vehicle collided with the rear of a tipper truck.
Thankfully, a vigilant reporter who was trailing behind swiftly sprung into action, arranging for immediate transportation to the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC) for Eugene and another passenger. Simultaneously, the Achimota Police were summoned to the scene to manage the situation.
Recounting the chaotic scene, the journalist revealed, “I was trailing behind them when I witnessed the collision. Without hesitation, I rushed to their aid, only to discover it was Kuame Eugene. He sustained injuries including a broken wrist and a deep laceration on his right hand.”
According to the reporter, as sighted on Ghanaweb, the tipper truck was in motion albeit at a slow pace when Eugene’s vehicle abruptly crashed into it. The hazardous conditions of the N1 highway, exacerbated by inadequate lighting, compounded by the tipper truck’s lack of functioning tail lights, are believed to have significantly contributed to the accident.
This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the critical need for improved road safety measures and infrastructure enhancements to prevent such accidents in the future. Our thoughts are with Kuame Eugene and all those affected, and we wish them a speedy recovery.
